Peritius in the Community
In addition to helping Fortune 1000 and small to medium sized businesses execute on their strategic plans, Peritius consultants are very active in their community. Firm believers in the concept of “what goes around comes around,” members of this team do a lot in the way of giveback to schools, volunteer associations, and other organizations in the area. As a team, Peritius has volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository and matched donations to Donors Choose. For the holidays two organizations are picked to receive a monetary donation.

Pat Dugan Pat Dugan, senior manager, volunteers with Lakeview Pantry. Last year, Lakeview Pantry delivered 1.6 million pounds — 800 tons — of food. Pat delivers food three Saturdays a month for the food pantry and says it is a really humbling experience when recipients invite you into their homes. For Joyce Gallagher, manager of business operations at Peritius, volunteering has always been in her blood and a labor of love. Whether it's holding infants born addicted to cocaine or providing hospice support or volunteering with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate to abused and neglected children), it is important to Joyce to give where her heart draws her. Joyce currently volunteers at North Chicago Animal Control in North Chicago, Illinois. She has taken on the role of volunteer coordinator and with others hosts fundraisers to raise funds for medical treatment for injured and abused animals and to support to the placement of animals in rescue quickly. She believes no job is too small in her passion for helping animals. She has also started her own little campaign to pay it forward, called Secret Friend. Joyce has been known to pay for a breakfast or lunch for someone eating alone, leave envelopes at a door for someone in need and play Secret Santa throughout the year for a child who is in need of presents during the holidays. It is Joyce’s true joy to help others in need, and she is always on the lookout for ways to do so both professionally and personally.

Raquel Pittman Raquel Pittman, general manager, volunteers with the After School Matters program. It is a non-profit organization that offers Chicago high school teens activities through Science, Sports, Tech, Words and the nationally recognized Gallery programs.

Jenn Schwabauer, executive assistant, is a volunteer with North Chicago Animal Control. At NCAC she helps to care for the animals and when not tending to the animals spends her time networking and helping with fundraising for the facility. Jenn is also a driver for New Beginnings Animal Transport, an organization of drivers countrywide that work together to move large numbers of animals from kill shelters to no-kill rescues and foster homes. Most of the transports involve 2-20 animals and up to 18 drivers each weekend.
